DaniLeigh Sentenced To 5 Years Probation For DUI Hit-And-Run
DaniLeigh has been sentenced to five years probation for her 2023 DUI hit-and-run. According to court documents obtained by XXL, the Miami singer “pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge as well as one count of DUI causing serious injury.” The charge to which DaniLeigh pleaded no contest is a felony, but the singer will not be facing any prison time.
“She [DaniLeigh] wasn’t really at fault in the accident… but there was damage to the car,” Catalano tells XXL. “She wants to say, ‘I’m really sorry about this,’ but [the victim] has a lawyer, and we never let people talk because it can be held against them. She’s very apologetic about it and feels horrible that somebody got hurt.”
There are two additional charges — leaving the scene of a crime and an additional DUI charge — that can be dismissed once Dani completes her probation and has no violations during that time.
DaniLeigh Arrested For DUI Hit & Run
DaniLeigh was arrested for a DUI back in May in Miami Beach. Police claimed that she was involved in a DUI hit-and-run TMZ reported at the time. The person DaniLeigh allegedly hit with her vehicle had some back injuries and was riding a moped at the time of the accident.
According to the police report obtained by the tabloid, “Dani was seen by several witnesses driving at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of lanes near Miami Beach. Eventually, cops say she struck somebody who was on a motorized scooter and dragged the moped for about a block. Somebody flagged down a nearby officer, who then initiated a stop.”
Dani reportedly took a field sobriety test during the stop, which the law enforcement source says she failed. She followed up with a breathalyzer test. The officer claims she blew a 0.145 and 0.148. Those results are nearly twice the legal limit to operate a vehicle.
The “Easy” singer was booked and taken to jail on three felony charges: driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and DUI damage to property.
