Judge Rules Diddy Rape Accuser Must Disclose Identity
A judge is ruling that the woman who is accusing Diddy and two other men of gang rape when she was 17 years-old girl cannot stay anonymous.
Judge Jessica G. L. Clarke says “while the court does not take plaintiff’s concerns lightly, the Court cannot rely on generalized, uncorroborated claims that disclosure would harm plaintiff to justify her anonymity,” per Billboard. Clarke also adds that due to the “graphic and disturbing allegations in this case,” she is aware of the fact that revealing the alleged victim’s identity “could have a significant impact on her.” However, Clarke adds that in high-profile cases such as Harvey Weinstein, the accusers could not remain anonymous.
Diddy Accused Of Sexual Assault Of 17-Year-Old Girl
Back in Decemeber, in a lawsuit obtained by Rolling Stone, filed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, she claims the alleged incident happened in 2003 when she was in the 11th grade. Combs was 34 at the time. She claims she met up with Diddy and Harve Pierre, who was the president of Bad Boy Entertainment, inside Combs’ recording studio in Manhattan.
She claims that Pierre and an unnamed man met up with her in Detroit and then flew her to New York. Upon arriving at the studio, she was fed a “copious” amount of intoxicants where her coherency began to “blur,” the lawsuit alleges.
The lawsuit alleges that all three men raped the alleged victim that night in the bathroom of Combs’ studio. At one point, the lawsuit alleges that Combs watched her being raped from outside of the bathroom as he sat in a chair.
After the sexual assault, the 17-year-old “regained her bearings” enough to walk with some assistance to get in a car so that Combs could put her on a plane back to Detroit. It’s noted in the lawsuit that she has a “very limited recollection” of the return flight and “only remembers being in her car sometime early in the morning.”
Diddy Speaks Out Amid Gang Rape Lawsuit
Diddy broke his silence, maintaining his innocence on the lawsuit shortly after news broke.
“Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
