The Pink Friday 2 tour is underway and there already is an issue. Nicki Minaj was set to appear in New Orleans last night, but the tour stop was cancelled.
New Orleans was amped and ready for Nicki Minaj yesterday for her tour stop. Yesterday one of my friends texted me and told me that the concert was cancelled. I kept thinking there was no was the tour stop was cancelled. It turned out to be absolutely true. The tour stop was allegedly cancelled one hour before the show was set to start. Of course this creates angry fans and more.
With the very public beef between she and Megan Thee Stallion, this can’t be good. Recently, Megan Thee Stallion announced her “Hot Girl Summer” tour. Honestly, I think they should have put their beef to the side and created a joint tour. That would have created a conglomerate so to speak. Fans of both ladies would be able to have them in one building and it increases sold out chances.
When I located the Ticketmaster link in regards to tour dates, Megan Thee Stallion’s tour only shows three dates. One of those, two separate locations, fall on the same date as a tour stop for Nicki Minaj. Megan will be in Boston, MA and Napa, CA the same day. I’m not sure how that will work, but I’m assuming it’s worked out. Not our problem right? Either way, something is going on.
According to Fox8, it was the “doctor’s order” that caused the Nicki Minaj’s NOLA tour stop to be cancelled. The tour stop will be rescheduled, but I hope she is ok. Nicki Minaj is set to be in Atlanta on Thursday and Friday. She will make her stop here in Charlotte on next Friday March 26th. Despite the cancellation, fans still continued to send her love on social media.
7 Rappers Who've Never Won A Grammy That Should Have
A Grammy is regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in music. Or at least it used to be. Hip-hop, which has taken the main stage in coming years still does not get the same respect as other music formats. The Grammys have been called out by artists, more specifically Black artists, for not getting it right, or being relevant.
Jay-Z Slams The Grammys Over Beyoncé’s Snubs
While the conversation surrounding how the Grammys treats Black artists is not new by any means, it was specifically called out by both Jay-Z and Drake this year. On Sunday night, Jay-Z took the stage for his acceptance of the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. From the stage, he discussed his feelings the Grammys’ biases. He brought to light the fact that his wife Beyoncé — who holds the most Grammys of any artist with 32 — has never won Album Of The Year.
“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady. But she has more Grammys than anyone and has never won Album of the Year,” Jay said. “So even by your own metrics, it doesn’t work.”
Drake Blasts The Grammys
Drake was not present at the award show, as he was on his It’s All A Blur: Big As The What? Tour . He was up for four awards with 21 Savage for their joint project Her Loss. Although, it did not stop the rapper for sharing hie feelings about how he felt towards the Recording Academy.
“All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts it’s just the opinion of a group of people who’s name are kept a secret (literally you can google in),” he Drake gives his thoughts on hip-hop at the #GRAMMYs
