The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris and begin on July 26 and end on August 11th. There are a couple first taking place at this year's games.

For the first time in the history of the Olympic Summer Games, the Opening Ceremony will not take place in a stadium. Instead, the opening ceremony will be held in the heart of the city along the Seine. In addition to that, four new sports have been added to the 2024 Olympic games; Breaking (also known as Breakdancing), Sport Climbing (also known as Indoor Rock Climbing), and Skateboarding, and Surfing. Check out a complete list of all the 2024 Summer Olympic Sports below.

The Olympic Village, where athletes competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics will stay, won’t have air conditioning. The decision not to install AC was an effort by organizers to have the “greenest ever Games.”

Instead of AC, a system of water pipes running beneath the floorboards at the athlete's residence will be used to cool rooms to temperatures ranging from 73 to 79 degrees. Fans will be provided by the Paris Olympic committee, but many countries, including the United States, will be providing portable AC units to their athletes.
