Method Man Forever a Sex Symbol?
In a recent interview on the Tamron Hall Show, Tamron Hall asks Method Man about an interview he did with Men's Health Magazine after gracing the cover. In the magazine, Method Man says that he is not a sex symbol and doesn't want to be lusted over, but he just wants to be respected. Of course, immediately, the crowd goes crazy.
Method Man may be known for how he looks, but he is also known for taking off that shirt and showing us what he is working with. But, we can see how sometimes that might be a bit frustrating to constantly hear. Method Man goes on to say that he appreciates the admiration, but there are times he just wants to blend in. He will show off what he is working with, but there are times he wants to be lowkey. He also admits that sometimes the admiration does get a bit awkward.
Now, I am not saying to keep harassing Method Man. But sir, you know good and well you look good and we women appreciate you and everything you do! Do you think Method Man is one of those who will forever be a sex symbol to some of us?
Twitter Lusts After Method Man’s Newest Magazine Cover
Method Man's newest digital cover with Essence Magazine has Twitter in a frenzy!
The 50-year-old rapper/actor graces Essence's February's digital cover and speaks on his “a h-- of a transition” to acting.
“There was a changing of the guard in hip-hop. I was cool with that. I had to evolve with the business and if that meant acting, so be it. I was going to throw all my eggs in one basket,” the Power actor said.
Method Man (born Clifford Smith, Jr.) plays Davis Maclean on Power Book II: Ghost, for which he won an NAACP Image Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Although the rapper gets a lot of praise for his acting ability he also got coy on being considered a "sex symbol" as well:
“I don’t understand that s-–. I go to the gym for my own peace of mind. I don’t do it to become someone’s sex symbol or a pinup on someone’s wall. I do it for me.”
He added, “People like attention. I’m the same as everybody else. But at the end of the day, take me seriously, not lightly.”
