Rihanna Claps Back at Social Media Users Commenting On Her Video
Now, y’all know our girl RiRi doesn’t play. Rihanna said she had some time and decided to clap back at a few commenters who had something to say regarding her recent video about voting in the election.
Rihanna took to social media to joke about the fact that her children are U.S. Citizens since they were born here and about her inability to vote in the election. She posted a video that said, “POV: me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport #votecauseicant.” She posted the video to Instagram and then captioned it with, when protecting p*ssies and firing p*ssies can happen all in one vote #votecauseicant #TanSuitSeason”
Rihanna Claps Back on Social Media
The post caused quite a bit of confusion (for those who don’t know much about RiRi) and some backlash for the joke itself. Commenters replied to the video with a range of comments, but a lot were originally asking why she could not vote. For those who do not know, Rihanna is not a U.S. Citizen, she was born and raised in Barbados. Therefore, she is unable to vote as she is not a citizen but because her kids were born here, that is what she was referencing in the joke.
But, of course, with all things on social media comes a bit of backlash and rude comments. But, if it’s one thing RiRi fans know it’s that when she decides to reply, it’s not going to be pretty. Rihanna decided to respond to a few commenters who had something to say about voting, but also her citizenship status.
One commenter said “Wanting to secure the border is akin to shutting the door to your home. It’s not even a locked door, it’s simply shut. All you gotta do is open it & walk in. There is a right & a wrong way to come inside. The people who are against having a secure border are essentially saying it’s okay to break a window & enter in that way. I’m sorry this is such a foreign concept for so many but it really stems from a lack of education. America is the land of the free, & that is still true. “enter ye your huddled masses” is proof that the invitation still stands, all we ask is that you use the damn door. Why are so many against that? Y’all wildin. This is exactly why celebrities shouldn’t be posting their political opinions. How’re you gonna misguide your fans? Stick to music sis.” The singer then replied to this comment, “Where were you in Jan 6 sis? Stick to your discounted crotch. We out here fighting for its rights!”
Another commenter said, “Ironically enough she can vote if she would had setup her paper for voting as migrant if she doesn’t have a us citizenship. I guess someone been rejected by the system or acts like it for the majority.” Then, Rihanna replies with, “I LOVE my Bajan passport! I came here to work and pay taxes! You’re welcome”
If it’s one thing Rihanna had was time! She decided to not leave some of those comments unbothered and replied to a few more commenters. Social media and tea pages are reacting to a lot of the comments also defending Rihanna towards those leaving negative comments.
