"SouthPark After 5 is one of Charlotte's signature events — delivering on our vision for a vibrant and connected neighborhood," said Adam Rhew, president and CEO of SouthPark Community Partners, per WCNC.
Since its start in 2023, these outdoor shows have drawn 65,000 music fans. Each night mixes live bands with food vendors, drink stations, and changing weekly surprises.
Java Band opens the series on Sept. 4, bringing their sound while kids get their faces painted. Next up, Landslide pays tribute to Fleetwood Mac on Sept. 11, as a mobile library parks nearby. The North Carolina Brazilian Arts Project joins Coconut Groove Band on Sept. 18 during the Charlotte International Arts Festival.
When Bourbon Sons takes the stage on Sept. 25, the first 500 guests will get free sunflowers. Y2K Kids rocks out on Oct. 2 alongside another library visit. Petty Rewind closes things out on Oct. 9 with a pop-up pumpkin patch.
The shows happen at Symphony Park, where Barclay Downs Drive meets Carnegie Boulevard. SouthPark Community Partners teams up with Southern Entertainment to run these events, aiming to make this spot Charlotte's next big gathering place.
Bring your own chairs and blankets for the lawn. The music spans from rock to country to soul, with some tribute acts mixed in. Best of all? Every show stays free.
