The Charlotte Knights will kick off their "Light the Knights" holiday festival Wednesday at Truist Field. It runs through Jan. 4. The gates close on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The festival features ice skating on an NHL-sized outdoor rink. A 150-foot snow tubing hill sits in right field. Thousands of lights blanket the ballpark, with themed areas like Santa's Workshop and Mrs. Claus's Kitchen. Holiday shopping booths will line the concourse.

Doug Maurer serves as Director of Communications. "We wanted to create something that feels magical for families and fans," Maurer said, according to WCNC. "It's about bringing people together and making Uptown Charlotte the heart of holiday celebrations."

Free Santa photo opportunities will be offered. Live entertainment performs during festival dates. The organization will show the movie Elf on the stadium video board during one December evening.

"This is more than an event, it's a celebration of community and joy," Maurer said.

Seasonal treats and warm drinks will be sold. The festivities aim to turn the baseball stadium into a winter destination.

Tickets cost $14. That gets you access to lights, photo opportunities, and vendors. A $45 ticket includes unlimited ice skating and snow tubing. The ballpark sits at 324 S. Mint St.

Full schedule details and tickets are available at CharlotteKnights.com. The festival marks a return of what organizers call one of the city's winter traditions.
