Charlotte doesn't do anything halfway, and this weekend is proof. Tuck Fest turns the U.S. National Whitewater Center into a three-day playground for outdoor adventurers, Paws in the Park brings dogs, music, and community together in Pineville, and Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival fills downtown Cornelius with stages, makers, and good vibes.

Tuck Fest at US National Whitewater Center

  • What: Whitewater thrills, live music, and 40,000 outdoor lovers

Now in its 13th year, Tuck Fest is a three-day celebration of the outdoor lifestyle at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, drawing 40,000 visitors each April. The festival packs its 1,300-acre facility with dozens of races and competitions open to all skill levels, live performances by acts including Shane Smith & The Saints and The 502s, a vendor village, clinics, yoga, and plenty of food and drink. Named for the historic Tuckaseegee Ford trading route that runs through the property, Tuck Fest is the ultimate outdoor adventure weekend.

Paws in the Park

  • What: Free dog fest with contests, rescues, and live music
  • When: Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: Pineville Lake Park, 1000 Johnston Drive, Pineville
  • Cost: Free admission; vendors will have items available for purchase

One of the Charlotte area's largest dog events, Paws in the Park brings together rescue organizations, adoption opportunities, food trucks, vendors, a photo booth, and live entertainment at Pineville Lake Park. Friendly dogs are welcome on leash as families enjoy Dare Devil Dogs performances, a Blessing of the Animals, and free-to-enter dog contests with cash prizes across six categories, from smallest dog to best dressed group. The day wraps up with a live performance by Chairmen of the Board. The event is free, family-friendly, and rain or shine.

Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival

  • What: Free arts and music fest takes over downtown Cornelius
  • When: Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Cornelius (Oak Street Mill, Town Hall, Catawba Avenue, and adjacent streets)
  • Cost: Free admission; vendors will have items available for purchase

Billed as the region's largest arts and music festival, Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival takes over downtown Cornelius, featuring multiple live music stages, more than 100 artists and makers, food trucks, and a craft beverage zone with local breweries, wineries, and cideries. Families will find kids zones with inflatables and a petting zoo, while street art demos, live painting, and pop-up installations add creative energy throughout.

Charlotte's weekend stretches well beyond the festival grounds. From an outdoor music experience on South Boulevard to a neo-soul reunion and a campus celebration of science and creativity, there's plenty to fill your days and nights.
