A lot of us want to get out of the house now that the weather is getting nicer and the pandemic is easing up. Sometimes, I just hop in the car, drive around, and see where the road takes me.
Due to the rise in gas prices, I began to rethink my excessive driving and wanted to find some fun and easy places in Charlotte to visit. After exploring some of our Queen City, these are 5 of the easiest and most fun things to do. Check them out below and have a great time getting out!
There’s nothing like catching a stellar play. Growing up in NJ, we used to go to New York City all the time to see plays on and off-Broadway. Check out the shows at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center if you enjoy live entertainment. I had the opportunity to see Wicked and my favorite podcast on stage last year.
The oldest art museum in the country is located in Center City. The exhibits feature artwork from all over the world, including Africa, Europe, and the U.S. In addition, the museum pays homage to the artists who live in Charlotte. New residents of Charlotte can become members of the Mint Museum, which offers a number of perks, including discounted programs and classes, free admission, and invitations to special events and exhibits for members only.
Ready to race? The NASCAR Hall of Fame is where legends live on. Where fun lives on. If you like NASCAR then you will highly enjoy a visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It features racing simulators, valuable memorabilia from the Hall of Fame, and the lives of some of the famous NASCAR drivers, such as Dale Earnhardt and Terry Labonte. Three for Dale!
In Charlotte, this drive is quick and easy. You can take a journey through history with one of the most influential voices of the 20th century right off Billy Grahm Parkway. Relive the historic moments of his life through multimedia exhibits, films, and memorabilia. The Graham family home has been restored, Ruth’s Attic is open for shopping, and The Dairy Bar offers lunch. It will leave you inspired by this amazing man and his message of hope after visiting the Billy Graham Library.
Fancy a bike ride? Well, you better be up for a challenge. This mountain biking park is located in Eastside Charlotte. This park has a singletrack loop that is about nine miles long. The trail offers a variety of fun features, including skinnies, ladder bridges, drops, jumps, and a dinosaur back. The park offers obstacles for users of all levels along its loop.
