Neicy Nash and Jimmy Jam were 2 of the celebrities on hand to announce the newest entertainers to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of FameBusta Rhymes, Nia Long, Sherri Sheppard, and Cortney B. Vance are a few of the members of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025. Prince, who passed away in 2016 at age 57, will receive a posthumous induction.

In addition to that, the Carolina’s own Fantasia is getting a star.  The award winning singer, actress, and author took to social media to share the exciting news saying in part, “Little girl from High Point, NC, made it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

After winning American Idol in 2004, Fantasia’s dropped her debut album “Free Yourself”. Her debut single, “I Believe,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her single “Bittersweet”, from her 3rd album “Back to Me”, scored her her first Grammy. In 2005, Fantasia released her New York Times Best selling autobiography, “Life is Not a Fairy Tale“. From 2007 to 2008, she played “Celie Johnson” in the Broadway musical “The Color Purple” and reprised her role in the 2023 film adaption. Fantasia is the 3rd “American Idol” to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
