The 2nd night of the Democratic National Convention was star-studded. Patti LaBelle and Common perform across generations and genres. Common performed his 2024 single “Fortunate,” altering his lyrics to address Vice President Kamala Harris and featuring gospel singer Jonathan McReynolds on the chorus. Patti LaBelle reprised her 1978 ballad “You Are My Friend” after 60 years in the music industry. Lil Jon jazzed up the DNC roll call by presenting Georgia’s delegation and performing his hits “Turn Down for What” and “Get Low”. Barack and Michelle Obama both delivered inspiring speeches.
