If you want to find out where to get some of the best burgers in Charlotte, your chance is coming. The Queen City will celebrate the 8th annual Charlotte Burger Week from August 18-27.

There are more than a dozen restaurants that will offer specialty burgers during that week in Charlotte. The "speciality burgers" will go for about $7. But, there are a few things you'll need to know before you stop in to get your burger.

Know Before You Go

  • You won't be able to make substitutions for your burger. You can remove toppings, but you can't switch out a chicken or turkey burger for a beef burger without paying extra.
  • The $7 cost of the burger does not include sides, taxes or tips.
  • The $7 burgers are for dine-in customers only and cannot be ordered to go.

Download a CLT Burger Passport from the event website to get a detailed description of each restaurant’s specialty burger and drink specials, where available. If you visit four or more restaurants and get your server to initial your passport, you can submit it for a chance to win a prize.

Other ways to win prizes:

  • Following @CLTBurger Week on Instagram and post photos of your burger using #CLTLovesBurgers
  • Help crown the best burger in town by voting for your favorite here beginning Aug. 18.

Check out some of the participating restaurants to grab your 'speciality' burger.

Kid Cashew

When I first came to this spot, I thought it was more American/Asian fusion. But, I quickly came to  learn it's alot more 'American' than I knew. This burger is out of this world! It's a quarter pound of beef called the "Mack Daddy" burger; topped with all the things that make burgers special.

Penguin Drive-In

Now THIS is what you called a 'Fried Bacon Burger' oozing with cheese and a special sauce. Yum! There are other burgers to enjoy like the Sprockefeller, Love America Style, Kick His Ass Seabass, and MORE! There are other types of food to enjoy if you're not a burger lover like some.

Fat Cat Burgers + Bakeshop

If you want a different bite to your burger, the 'Fat Franny' may be it! It's definitely not your average burger. How about your choice of a beef burger or crispy chicken sandwiched between two maple bacon donuts! And yes, I said donuts!!

Burgers & Barley

If you want different and fancy when it comes to your burger, this might be the spot for you. All the burgers are handcrafted and chef-inspired. Take a chance on the wild side and try out the 'Fried Flounder' burger served on brioche bread.

The Local Charlotte

Need I say more? The Local Charlotte is for those with a rather unique palate. A spaghetti burger anyone? No judgment here. There are sandwiches and burgers like the chicken club, blackened Caesar wrap, the gamecock, a spaghetti sandwich, and more! That spaghetti sandwich might be something crazy to think about and try!

French Quarter Restaurant

Known for its Greek cuisine, French Quarter Restaurant doesn't discriminate. Why not have a hefty burger with all the trimmings, including jalapenos of course? They call it the "Dirty South" burger. They have other burgers that you could enjoy like mushroom cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, or a plain ole classic burger!

Whiskey Warehouse

It's Sunday, so change up your brunch menu and sink your teeth into the 'Tex Mex' burger topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. And throw in a side of sweet potato fries. You can enjoy other burgers like mushroom and swiss burgers, veggie burgers, or a classic cheeseburger.

Bradshaw Social House

This family-owned and operated spot prides itself on good times, good people, and good food. Burgers for everyone! They have tons of burger options like the BBQ bacon burger, messy mushroom burger, cajun cheeseburger, veggie burger, and even a Crossfit burger.

Jack Beagles (NoDa, Morehead, Mount Holly)

Drum roll, please...introducing the 'Elotes Burger'! This is a 7-ounce burger patty topped with corn hummus and lettuce. A sure way to kick off 'Burger Week.' They've got loaded mac and cheese recipes, sandwiches, loaded waffle fries, and plenty of burger options. Get yourself a patty melt, the blue bayou burger, jack mac burger, or a pickle burger. That's right, pickle!

Mac's Speed Shop (South End, Steele Creek, Matthews, Concord, Lake Norman)

Known for its barbecue, Mac's Speed Shop can switch it up! They tout a mean chicken burger, too. Check out the 'Smoked Chicken' sandwich with jalapeno and cheddar. I'm sure you have heard of this spot so check them out, but you can also enjoy burger options like the triple patty daddy or the new patty melt burger.

Harry’s Grille & Tavern

Yes, this is a pub, but who says 'pubs' can't go upscale. If you want to upgrade your burger experience, check out the Swiss burger, 100% fresh ground beef, fried green tomato, topped with house-made pimento cheese.

Tyber Creek Pub

Don't let this 'pub' fool you. The Tyber Creek Pub brings it not only with an assortment of beers, but burgers too. Like this 'Western Burger' made with everything 'burger'. That includes ground beef, bacon, onion rings and cheddar cheese to name a few.
