Janine is an award-winning 25-year radio veteran and entertainment journalist and has frequently made guest appearances on various television affiliates including ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. Nearly 15 years ago, Janine started Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. after having candid conversations with young girls in the Charlotte school system. What she learned motivated her to create a series of ‘real girl talk ‘ (no parent) sessions. Her first ‘girl talk’ session attracted 200 girls. Today, Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. is a Charlotte-based nonprofit agency serving girls ages 11-16 with character building programs that develop girls’ maturation skills, helping them become self-aware, self-managed and socially competent women. Since it’s inception, the Foundation has provided structured out-of-school programming and program support that has served more than 30,000 girls and their families. The Girl Talk popular Prom Project℠ teaches girls social, dining and fashion etiquette and offers free prom attire to girls who can’t afford their own. This event has helped more than 26,000 girls and families get outfitted for prom and boosted girls’ self-esteem. Janine is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Janine lives by the motto: “Once you discover your greatness, you can be greater than great.
