Why Wait For A New Year For A Resolution? Do The Thing Now!
This has always been a qualm of mine when the New Year comes along.
I used to work in a gym when I was a teenager, and can I just tell you how many people wait to get started on their “new year new me” motivation until January 1. Fun Fact: Gyms LOVE New Year’s because that’s their busiest season. Everyone’s signing up for the gym, trying to work on themselves.
People also to stores like Office Depot and pick up organizational supplies, and people attempt to eat healthily.
Now with all of that in mind, most New Year’s Resolutions have a shelf life of only 2 months. People get through the first two stuck to it, and then they miss one day. “I’ll try again tomorrow.” Go another week, and then miss again. They start to fall off the wagon. And once you slip up too many times, you think “Well I guess I’ll have to wait till next year to change my life.”
Well, here’s my new proposition for you: Instead of waiting for a “Resolution” to change, start anytime. You don’t need a calendar date to tell you how to live your life, or when to start making changes toward it.
Want to be healthy? Start now. Want to get organized? Start now. Got a goal? DO IT! DON’T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS!

And sure, it’s right around the New Year, but don’t look at it as New Year’s is the only time that you can make those changes! You just have to do them, regardless of when! If you’ve got a goal, it’s your goal, and it doesn’t fit on a calendar.
The world is your oyster, so don’t wait till January 1 to eat that oyster.
Wait, what?
