Tupac's whole life lived and breathed the things he was rapping about. He was the son of a black panther which gave him a whole different outlook on black culture. Tupac's mom, Afeni, was a known member of the Black Panther Party. She instilled the knowledge of self-power, unity, and fighting for the rights of others in her son. Tupac often fought for the rights of others and preached black unity. Tupac's efforts for black unity are often overshadowed by his storied troubles with the law. One thing Tupac did to try and secure black unity was the unification of gang culture. It has been documented that Tupac once went to the heads of the notorious Bloods and crips gangs and sparked a truce. The truce continued until the time of his death. Did You Know This Tupac Story? Tupac stood in the gap for those who did not have anybody to stand for them. He was inspiring to women and mothers as well. Tupac is the only rapper to ever shoot two cops and not go to jail for it. The story is well documented. Tupac was riding down the street and saw two white males beating up a black male. Tupac pulled over his vehicle to help the man. One of the men who was attacking the man pulled a gun, but Tupac was quicker with his and shot both men. The men were off-duty police officers. The off-duty officers never identified themselves.
