National TV Show Names North Carolina Town The “World’s Greatest City”
According to WCNC Charlotte, a national television series recently named a North Carolina town the World’s Greatest City. The honor went to the City of Hickory.
On Friday, an announcement was made by the City of Hickory that they had been picked to be the greatest city in the world. The feature will be on a national television series.
The Mayor of Hickory Hank Guess says, “We were excited to be contacted and selected to appear on the “World’s Greatest” television show. Hickory’s people and close-knit sense of community make our city great. This show is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Hickory and all it has to offer to the rest of the world.”
The episode about Hickory will air on Bloomberg TV on Saturday, December 9th, and Saturday, December 16th at 4 p.m. The show is 30 minutes long and highlights products, companies, places, and people that it thinks are the greatest in the world.
Hundreds of cities around the world were researched and interviewed before the producers of the show decided on Hickory. A film crew was sent to the City of Hickory shortly after it was chosen.
A senior producer on the show said, “Hickory immediately captured our attention.” Looks like Hickory is gaining some great attention from tons of people in the business. The area has so much rich history and a chance for many to learn and love the Hickory area.
Episode 357 of “World’s Greatest!…” has a 3-minute segment about the City of Hickory and includes many interviews of important people running the city.
