Where Is Diddy’s Former Assistant Fonzworth Bentley?
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been all over the headlines lately, and people who’ve followed his journey can’t help but ask: whatever happened to his former assistant, Fonzworth Bentley? Where’s he been hiding?
Bentley, whose real name is Derek Watkins, has sparked chatter on social media as people wonder what he’s up to or what he has to say as Diddy’s world seems to unravel. Strangely enough, he hasn’t posted on social media since April, as one person pointed out on X (formerly Twitter). Even his recent Instagram posts are a bit low-key, featuring memes, quotes, and some throwback performances from other artists.
“The person I want to hear from the most is Fonzworth Bentley. He and Diddy’s dynamic looked rather interesting, to say the least,” one person said. Another chimed in, “All these Diddy stories are coming out. Somebody get Fonzworth Bentley on the line! That’s who knows the real truth!”
Back in the day, Bentley was a familiar face in Diddy’s world, always by his side and even appearing on reality shows like Making The Band. Given how close they were, TikTok sleuths have been speculating about Bentley’s whereabouts, with one user breaking down his career while wondering why he’s stayed under the radar for months.
While Bentley has been keeping quiet, Freddy P, a former member of Diddy’s “Da Band,” had plenty to say during a recent interview on The Art of Dialogue. Freddy P dropped some serious allegations, saying that Diddy is “gay” and surrounds himself with people who either embrace or tolerate that. “I think everybody around him gay, and I don’t think you get to stay around him unless you’ve proven that either you are with the s— or the s— don’t bother you,” Freddy P shared.
He then reflected on Bentley, saying, “Now that we know the monster, man, you carried that man’s umbrella. I watched this man disrespect you every chance he got. He talked to you like his b—-.” Still, Freddy P quickly softened his stance, admitting that he respects Bentley, adding, “He’s got kids and s—.”
Earlier this year, Diddy’s former bodyguard Gene Deal also shed some light on Bentley, alleging that their fallout had something to do with Bentley being caught stealing.
With Diddy dominating headlines, fans naturally wonder about Bentley’s current perspective. He spent years in Diddy’s world, and while he may now be enjoying life away from the limelight, many are curious if he could shed light on the controversies surrounding his former boss.
Best known as Diddy’s former valet and assistant, “manservant,” and “butler” Bentley also hosted MTV’s From G’s to Gents and made appearances in music, including rapping on Da Band’s 2002 album Too Hot for TV and featuring in OutKast’s 2003 skit Good Day, Good Sir on Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. He also had a cameo in Kanye West’s 2004 video for The New Workout Plan.
