Charlotte History Museum Celebrates Twelfth Night Virtually

The Charlotte Museum of History will host a special Twelfth Night edition of its ongoing virtual Lunch and Learn series on January 6th at noon. During this program, you will be able to learn about the food, music, mischief, and merriment that marked the end of the holiday season for early Charlotteans. The Lunch & Learn replaces the museum’s popular Twelfth Night party that usually attracts hundreds of people. “Twelfth Night celebrations were hugely popular in Colonial America and marked the end of the holiday season,” said Adria Focht, president & CEO of The Charlotte Museum of History. “It was the biggest party of the year, with lots of music and games and even more drinking and treats, including the highlight, a Twelfth Night cake.” History museum staff will be joined by Zach “The Historian” Lemhouse of the Culture & Heritage Museums of York County for the program. The Twelfth Night Lunch & Learn is part of the museum’s “Museum at Home” offerings, mostly free digital programs available at charlottemuseum.org/digital. So how do you attend?
