If you’re of a certain age, you’ve probably experienced that uncle or aunt or elderly person in your family who refuses to go to the doctor – for anything! Especially if you’re of the African American community or any person of color, it’s even more of a challenge when it comes to seeking adequate health care and ‘getting’ adequate health care if you’re a person of color.
The facts are the facts. Research shows the #1 reason Black Americans have worse health outcomes than other people, is the lack of access to high-quality medical care.
There is an organization in Charlotte, combating the health care inequities for Black people. QC Health provides comprehensive healthcare to underserved communities. They are a black-led organization that’s been around for the past 18 years providing services such as primary care and preventative services. QC Health believes everyone deserves high-quality medical care.
