When Dialing 911 Isn’t Enough, This Team Helps Answer The Call – Crisis Intervention Download

Imagine a situation where a law officer is called and on the scene is a woman visibly shaken because her partner has abused her and the alleged abusive partner is irrate and acting erratic, or a imagine family member cannot get an elderly member to come to the door or answer the phone, they begin to panic. Or a 15 year old girl is missing. The first thought is to dial 9-1-1. And you should. But now, because of more awareness and sensitivity of mental health, there is another member who may be on scene to help manage these cases. They are members of CIT or Crisis Intervention Team.
