The Millennium Tour Turned Up is here and it’s time to reminisce. The tour will host plenty of our favorite artists from the early 200s. From the days of downloading songs to your iPod, burning CDs, and album posters in your room things were a TIME! I mean we use to get hyped to see the best music videos on 106 & Park! The early 2000s were truly a time when music and music videos were on a different level.

The Millennium Tour Turned Up will be in Charlotte Saturday, October 8, 2022, and we are READY! This is your chance to check out some of your favorite artists from Keri Hilson, Bow Wow, and Mario to Travis Porter, Chingy, Ying Yang Twins, and more! Just let me find my spray-painted shirt and name belt because this is going to be a SHOW! I decided to come up with this list of some of my favorite throwback music videos from these artists. I mean, what else can we look forward to but reminisce on the moments when these videos were first released? Check out some of my top picks and tell me what you think!

  • Keri Hilson - Pretty Girl Rock

Let’s be clear! Pretty Girl Rock had us alllll in a chokehold at some point in our lives. The official YouTube video was published in 2010 and has over 119 million views! Pretty Girl Rock was part of her No Boys Allowed album which was her second studio album. Pretty Girl Rock peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is still one of her most recognized songs! This is absolutely one song I know the crowd will be looking forward to singing along with.

  • Bow Wow - Let Me Hold You

Now, if you weren’t trying to copy Bow Wow dances moves from this video then can you really consider yourself a true millennial? Bow Wow released the Let Me Hold You record as his first single for his album, Wanted. The song features Omarion and has over 116 million views on YouTube. The iconic ticking, hugging move is one that many, including his daughter Shai, have since imitated. If he does performance this hit, I think we all are going to want to see him hit that move at least ONCE!

  • Mario - Let Me Love You

Honestly, we all know Mario has plenty of hits for us to enjoy so this was a bit hard for me to decide which video to pick. But, I went with Let Me Love You because it is really an iconic Mario staple. Fun fact, when I was younger my cousins and I made up the corniest dance to this song and I have never forgotten it all this time later. Let Me Love You was released in 2004 as part of his second studio album, Turning Point. If you remember that single cover with him in the white suit and the shades, then you are truly a millennial!

  • Lloyd - Get It Shawty

Seriously, Get It Shawty has to be performed. This song right here, is the ONE that was on repeat. Not only did I have the CD, but I had the poster and added it to my iPod shuffle. Lloyd released this hit in 2007. His album Street Love was one of his iconic albums with multiple hits. The single peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs. The YouTube video has over 40 million views and is one of those videos that we all use to watch and dance to back then.

  • Pleasure P - Did You Wrong

Pleasure P is one of them ones! Originally in the group, Pretty Ricky, Pleasure P branched off for a solo career and did not disappoint. Releasing Did You Wrong as part of his first solo album in 2008 took him to another level. Also on this album was Boyfriend #2 and Under, two other favorites by Pleasure P. This song was certainly one you played going through one of your heartbreaks during that time and blasting it LOUDLY. The YouTube video has over 56 million views.

  • Bobby V - Slow Down

Another person we are all excited to see is Bobby V. Bobby V has plenty of hits, but one I am sure you may be excited to hear is Slow Down. Slow Down was released on Valentine’s Day in 2005. The song spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard’s Hip Hop/R&B chart. See, I told you this was a hit. The song also made No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. If you ever slept on Bobby V (which I do not know why you would) then you should wake up and get ready to sing along on tour.

  • Ying Yang Twins - Salt Shaker

So, we all know the Ying Yang Twins. I am sure this scene of the concert will get a little ratchet and crunk but that’s okay cause it’s going to be a good party! We shouting out the Ying Yang Twins hit, Salt Shaker. Salt Shaker is featuring both Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz. This crunk song still shuts down any club or party you might be at til this day! The song was released in 2003 and is still shutting down clubs and parties in 2022. Y’all ready to shake your salt shaker in the stands?

  • Travis Porter

Okay, but Travis Porter is really one of the ones that might get the entire crowd jumping… or twerking. Lets start with the fact that many of us had no idea Travis Porter was more than one person at first. But whether it was one or two people, they had us all twerking back then. Their hit Ayy Ladies is still on plenty of our go to twerk songs. The song was released in 2011 on their mixtape. The YouTube video made us all feel like we were partying with Travis Porter at that time. The video has over 45 millions views.
