Do you have a major boy band fan in your life, but have no clue what to get them this upcoming holiday season? Looking for the perfect gift for a superfan is hard enough as it is. Luckily for you, we compiled a list of all the major boy bands groups going as far back as the 60s.
Featuring R&B and pop (k-pop, too) groups including the Jackson 5, One Direction, Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys, New Edition, The Beatles, New Kids On The Block, Jonas Brothers, and BTS, we have something for literally everybody.
The Jackson 5 was founded in 1964 in Gary, Indiana, and for most of their career consisted of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. The Beatles was formed across the pond in the 60s and between these two groups, they set the precedent of what pop music is today. Fast forward a decade later and Bobby Brown’s New Edition came to be hailing from the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Another decade later and way more boy bands hit mainstream music including Boyz II Men and New Kids On The Block. The 90s and early 2000s gave what we know pop music today to be, with superstar groups Backstreet Boys and NSYNC both getting their starts in Orlando, Florida.
In the 2010’s the Jonas Brothers and One Direction had teenage girls practically losing their minds with such young teens being the forefront of the bands. Finally, the most powerful boy band group of today single-handedly goes to K-poppers BTS. They’ve made amazing collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Charli XCX, Halsey, Megan Thee Stallion, and even Coldplay!
