BEVERLY HILLS, CA - JUNE 24: (L-R) Songwriter/producer/recording artist Sean "Diddy" Combs, Paul Williams, president/chairman of the board of ASCAP and producer Dr., Dre speak during the 24th Annual Rhythm and Soul Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on June 24, 2011 in Beverly Hills, California.

Diddy and Dr. Dre might be the next pair of hip-hop icons to participate in a “Verzuz” battle. Over the weekend, Diddy spoke with Fat Joe via Instagram Live, and he said that he’s currently in talks regarding a battle between him and Dr. Dre.

However, the plans aren’t finalized yet and Diddy also said that the battle might take place via another platform. “We’re discussing a masterclass,” Diddy said. “To be honest, the things we discussed, we need to do something great and we need to do something for the people if we come together. I’m not sure if it’s gonna be the ‘Verzuz’ or what it’s gon’ be, but we definitely gon’ do something.”

When Diddy hosted his Dance-A-Thon on Easter Sunday, the hip-hop mogul over $3.7 million for COVID-19 relief, and fellow celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Drake, and Cardi B appeared.

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s “Verzuz” series has already included battles between Boi-1da and Hit-boy, The Dream and Sean Garrett, Ne-Yo and Johnta Austin, Scott Storch and Mannie Fresh, T-Pain and Lil Jon, and Babyface and Teddy Riley, which was the most-watched live stream yet garnering over half-a-million viewers.
