LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - NOVEMBER 24: Toni Braxton poses in the press room during the 2019 American Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on November 24, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Toni Braxton has released her new single “Gotta Move On.” “I kinda thought, if it’s important/You would be right here, yeah/I should’ve saw it, I seen the warnings/When you couldn’t be here, no,” Braxton sings on the track.

“Tell me, would it burn/Baby, if the tables turned? (yeah)/Pardon if the tables turned/Tell me, could you handle it?/See I gotta, yeah.” Contextually similar to Braxton’s other single “Do It” featuring Missy Elliott, “Gotta Move On” is about leaving a relationship that isn’t working.

However, in this single, the R&B veteran is singing about herself leaving a lover instead of singing about her friend leaving a lackluster partner. The song derives from Braxton’s new forthcoming album Spell My Name, which drops on Aug. 28.

H.E.R. is featured on Braxton’s single but not as a singer;  sheplayed the guitar on the track. Towards the end of the song, you can hear H.E.R.’s guitar solo.
