Failure Is Not Always Final
One of the all time favorite Grammy award winning singers is Luther Vandross. He had by far one of the most distinguished voices ever, and not many can mimic his style and grace because he was a true gentlemen that spoke to our hearts. What many people don’t know is that, Luther was BOOED MERCILESSLY offstage at the Apollo Theatre, remember that? However, he managed to live through the rejection and moved on to establish himself as an all time greats. Today, the Washington Football Club benched quarterback Dewayne Haskins in favor of former Panthers Quarterback Kyle Allen. Some of us can agree that Kyle Allen was not a high draft pick like Dewayne, right?
He wasn’t even considered the future QB of the Panthers, however, after being undrafted, cut, resigned, named the starter, benched, traded to a new team, and told by that new team “you won’t be the starter”, now Kyle Allen will be the starting quarterback on Sunday.
We have all experienced failure and rejection. It can be devastating to one’s ego, drive and future decisions. The good news is we have several examples of many who were rejected in the past but they didn’t quit. Rejection oftentimes is not only a part of the process, but a requirement for the reward. Don’t ever break down before your breakthrough. Quitting is NEVER EVER AN OPTION!!!! Got it?? Now go out and do something amazing with your life!
