Animals Under Your Armpit
Deodorants usually contain animal products such as stearic acid, lanolin, glycerine, squalene, beeswax, and tested on animals. Remembering those sweaty armpits as a teen makes you run towards all that aluminum found in antiperspirants. Yes, aluminum is a strong ingredient laced in antiperspirants that clogs up pores to prevent sweating. With aluminum being so close to your armpits, does that make us vulnerable to cancers? Next time I hear a commercial for deodorant I’ll wait to hear disclaimers with side effects
Other goodies in the ingredients are: parabens, steareths, triclosan, propylene glycol, TEA and DEA and artificial coloring. Don’t cringe when you look up those ingredients above. Not to worry because there’s team natural deodorant you can make with a few ingredients in the kitchen. Just swipe on baking soda, or mix baking soda and coconut oil. Some people mix in a little bit of essential oils, but be careful using a cheap brand of essential oils. I’ve even heard of people making popsicle sticks of deodorant that last 2 years if kept in an airtight container.
