Two North Carolina Towns One of the Best Mountain Towns in the US
If you enjoy a good trip then traveling to different sceneries is probably high up on your list. I know traveling can be a good time, but things are even better when you find a new spot different than your hometown. For North Carolina, we are lucky to have so many different destinations to visit. From beaches to cities to country towns to mountains, there are so many options to enjoy. Now, we are talking about mountain towns because cold weather plus mountain town vacation is probably one of the best types of trips.
Travel + Leisure gathered some of the best mountain towns across the country to see which ones were in the top 20. North Carolina not only made the list, but we had two different towns make the top 20. Talk about the perfect state for a road trip. If you were in need of a mountain town vacation, then here is the best place to start. The two North Carolina towns that made the top 20 are Asheville, North Carolina (of course!) and Highlands, North Carolina.
Highlands, North Carolina is a smaller town located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. This is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or a quiet getaway with a group just wanting to relax. You can enjoy things from luxury hotels to cute, small rental homes in town tucked away. While you’re there, enjoy some hiking trails, mountain views, waterfalls, restaurants, and more small town feels.
Asheville, North Carolina is the second North Carolina town to make the list. Again, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains Asheville is one of the most popular destinations to visit in North Carolina. This town is the perfect combination of adventure, business, and calm mountain town vibes. There is plenty of great restaurants to try out and a massive art scene. Visit the Biltmore Estate while you’re there or head downtown and sight see with other tourists and you’ll enjoy a great time in the mountains.
Guess it’s time to start planning another vacation!
