Four Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks in Charlotte to Visit
Have you ever been ice skating before? If you’re looking for places to go so you can do just that then Charlotte has exactly what you’re looking for. People in Charlotte and surrounding areas love to ice skate and The Charlotte region has 4 places where you can ice skate outside. Two in Charlotte, one in Huntersville, and one in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
These ice skating rinks opened up in November and will stay open until January or February. Here’s a list of the places where you can skate in the area.
- Whitewater Center- located at the US National Whitewater Center 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway in Charlotte. Open from 10am-10pm on weekends and 12pm-10pm on weekdays. This is Charlotte’s largest outdoor skating rink.
- Light the Knights- located at Truist Field 324 S Mint St Charlotte, NC. It began November 23rd and runs to January 8th 2023. It has a full skating rink and a 6 lane snow tubing slope in the outfield.
- Birkdale on Ice- The Plaza at Birkdale Village Birkdale Commons Parkway and Sam Furr Road Huntersville, NC. The cost is $18per adult $14 for kids 12 and under.
- Founders Holiday Ice Rink- Located across from Fountain Park in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Open from November 17th to January 16th, 2023. Cost is $15c for skate rental and 90 minutes on ice. The rink is covered by a large tent so they are open rain, shine, and snow.
