North Carolina Lottery Winner Wins Twice
Some people are luckier than others when winning cars, money, homes, vacations, and being at the right place at the right time. Cedric Bass of Kannapolis had lady luck on this side by beating the odds for the second time in three months. His $10 VIP Platinum ticket was purchased from Willow Oaks BP on George W. Liles Parkway in Concord and turned out to be a $1 million winner. What’s funny is that Bass was at the same store in January, winning from Cash 5. He matched all five white balls in the Jan. 6 drawing and won $182,073 after splitting the jackpot with another winner.
When you win the lottery in North Carolina we will have to drive to lottery headquarters like Bass. On Friday he showed up to claim his $1 million win. Bass had to choose an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. Mass chose the lump-sum amount of $600,000 and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $427,503. His VIP Platinum ticket debuted last month with five $1 million top prizes.
