North Carolina Picnic Company Offers Luxury Day Trips To The Outer Banks
My family and I go the Outer Banks every summer. We love it there but that’s a long drive. I’ve often thought how nice it would be to fly there instead. Then I remember all the stuff we bring with us to the beach. Flying to the Outer Banks might be better for a shorter visit, such as a picnic. That’s exactly what one company in Raleigh is currently offering.
According to WRAL-TV, Sweet T Picnics has come up with a unique way to visit the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills called the “Wright Way to Picnic.” It starts with you and a guest boarding a private luxury Cirrus SR22 plane at the Raleigh Executive Jetport with your own pilot and co-pilot. From there, you’ll enjoy a scenic 45- to 60-minute flight to the Outer Banks.
Once you land at the coast, you’ll be able to explore the site of the Wright Brothers’ historic first flight for approximately one hour. Then you’ll get to enjoy a leisurely two-hour gourmet picnic for two. Sweet T Picnics, which opened for business in 2021, serves up a menu featuring charcuterie, sandwich boxes, cupcakes, and pies.
After your picnic, it’s back on the plane for the return flight to Raleigh that same evening. Normally, a two-hour Sweet T picnic costs $300 with everything included. The “Wright Way to Picnic” experience runs a bit higher. With the round trip flight, it comes to $3,900. But, hey, at least you don’t have to drive there and back. Plus, this trip sounds like an amazing way to pop the question.
