Cam Newton
Did you watch the Carolina Panthers lose yesterday in New Orleans? Despite losing, Coach Matt Ruhle has inspired a team playing without their best player, Christian McCaffery, and also the best player in the franchise’s 26 year history Cam Newton. The team decided to cut ties with the former league MVP, in favor of Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater’s’ numbers are far from spectacular, but compared to Cam’s, they look great. Yesterday Cam Newton’s honeymoon with the Patriots came to an end. The team was blown out by San Francisco who was playing without its best player Joey Bosa.
However, the Patriots were still beaten soundly on their homefield. In Cam’s defense Bill Belichick has never been one to chase big name players, so Cam has had little to no help on the offense. The Patriots have a system, and the system is failing with Cam starting at quarterback. For the first time in his career Cam was benched. The question now is, is he finished? Tom Brady has to be smiling in Tampa at all the critics who claimed his success was due to Belichick’s system. I miss Cam in town, but the Cam I saw yesterday would not have helped the Panthers win that game
