Calling all my sneaker release fanatics! Wassup everyone, It’s Toren and I am back with another “Interns View”. Today we are talking about my top five sneaker releases in the last few years. If you’re a sneakerhead, then this is the article for you.

Over the past couple of years I have started to become a “Sneaker Head” (as sneakers are expensive). As I started to find my style I needed to find some sneakers that matched what I was going for. I can remember going to the mall with my mom and dad to get some Yeezy’s that had just dropped. To me sneakers make an outfit, you can have on some nice clothes but if the sneakers don’t match then you might as well through the whole fit away. You can wear the most basic thing but have a good pair of sneakers on then the fit goes from a five out of ten to a 10 out of 10.

It sucks now that resell culture has kind of ruined things as resellers have bots and things of that nature that help them secure multiple pairs of some of the most wanted sneakers. There have been countless times that I have lost a raffle or draw, then I go to X (formally known as Twitter) and see that there are individuals who hit for over 50 pairs of said sneakers only to resell them.

With that being said let’s get into my top 5 sneaker releases of the past couple of years. If you want some ideas of sneakers that are a great addition to your closet, these sneaker releases might be the perfect match. The colors, the designs, the details, all make these sneaker releases a 10 out of 10. So, get into these sneaker releases and really step that sneaker game up now! Top 5 Sneaker Releases in the Last Few Years

• Fragment X Travis Scott Jordan 1 High and Low

  From 2021 we have the Fragment X Travis Scott Jordan 1 High and Low. At the time Travis already had hype behind all of his prior sneaker releases. Fujiwara (the creator of Fragment) also has one of the most sought-after Jordan 1 collab, and now the two have combined forces. That August morning I opened the SNKRS app and hit on the sneaker (a wonderful day)!

• The Lost and Found Jordan 1

  From 2022, The Lost and Found Jordan 1. Paying homage to the OG release of the Chicago 1. The new take on the old sneaker adds a vintage look making it feel like a pair of the OG sneaker from 1985. Even the packaging with a mismatched box and a faux receipt from a corner store. Overall the sneaker and box give the vintage vibe and pay homage to the OG Chicago 1. This sneaker is the closest that some people will have to the 1985 release. I also own this shoe (actually have it on while typing this) and it is my mother’s favorite sneaker in my collection.

• The A-Ma Maniére Jordan 3

  Also from 2021, The A-Ma Maniére Jordan 3. The sneaker is based on the first pair of Jordan’s that James Whitner’s (the owner of A-Ma Maniére) mother bought him. Designed with women in mind but can be worn by anyone. When it was released it was staggered, giving the ladies a shot at obtaining the shoe first then everyone else after. The sneaker features grey suede on the toe instead of elephant print, a pre-yellowed midsole, Nike Air on the back, the brand’s logo on the tongue, and a luxurious satin lining. This sneaker is on my list of must-haves, still trying to get it to this day.

• A Ma Maniere Dusk Jordan 5

  From 2023, The A Ma Maniere Dusk Jordan 5. Release as a two-sneaker collaborative pack. The suede black upper drawing from luxury inspiration, the A-Ma Maniére badge featured on the tongue and outsole, along with the one-of-one A-Ma Maniére monogram pattern in place of the cage that is normally on a Jordan 5. I also got lucky and hit on the raffle for this sneaker on the A-Ma Maniére site.

• Cactus Jack Nike Sb’s

  Going back to 2020 and Travis Scott again with the Cactus Jack Nike Sb’s. Travis Scott changed the game with the release of the Sb and just wearing Sb’s themselves. He started wearing them and the value of Nike SBs skyrocketed. The sneaker has a tearaway bandana print, that when torn reveals another part of the sneaker. The uniqueness of the sneaker and its attached to Travis Scott helped it become a sought-after sneaker and one that I will one day have in my collection.
