Know Before You Go Taylor Swift Eras Tour Atlanta

It’s the biggest tour of the year and unfortunately, it’s not coming to Charlotte. But this weekend is the closest of the Eras Tour stops. Taylor Swift rolls into Atlanta for three sold-out shows at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I was lucky enough to attend the opening weekend of The Era’s Tour in Glendale, Arizona, and will also be making the drive down I-85 this weekend to catch another show. And with this many people heading to the shows, there can be a lot you need to know. That’s why I’m here to help.

The Era’s Tour

I consider myself an expert on all things Taylor Swift, I’ve attended every Taylor Swift tour from The Fearless Tour in 2009 to the Eras Tour in 2023 at least twice. And objectively this is hands down the best overall show she has ever done. And that’s saying something because even in 2009 her show was top-notch. Emotionally there are two shows that can never be topped for me – that very first show, and the RED Tour in Greensboro in 2013. But The Era’s Tour, it’s everything. I left Arizona upset not knowing if I’d get to see it again (and I went directly to Disney World when I left, sorry Disney The Era’s Tour is the happiest place on earth). I said I’d sell my soul to go to another date and luckily I was able to make that happen.

So if you are also one of the lucky ones (pun intended) who get to see the show keep reading for all the info from tickets, parking, bag policies, merch sales, and setlists. It’s truly a spectacle and one I can’t wait to experience again! Also still holding out hope for a 2024 leg of this tour stopping in Charlotte.

  • Are There Tickets Still Available?

    Tickets have been sold out for months to all three shows. Mercedes Benz Stadium posted the following on social media:

    – Tickets for all three shows are sold out. Fans should not come to the stadium without tickets. We DO NOT sell tickets at the stadium box office, everything is done online via Ticketmaster.
    – Fans looking for tickets should be very cautious when purchasing tickets from anyone other than Ticketmaster.
    While tickets are available on resale sites, use caution when purchasing from these types of retailers. If you are buying from an individual do not use any payment other than Paypal Goods & Services which will protect you if you do not receive the tickets. I’d still use caution even doing this. Check Ticketmaster leading up to the shows, including day of as some tickets have been released in recent weeks for that weekends shows.

  • Mobile Tickets

    As is standard procedure at most venues, tickets will be accessible via mobile device only. No Screenshots. The venue recommends that you add your mobile tickets to your Apple Wallet of Google Play prior to arriving at your gate for entry.

  • What Time Does The Venue Open?

    Show starts at 6:30 p.m.

    Doors open to general fans at 4:30 p.m.

    Early entry for VIP 1 & 2, It’s been a long time coming and karma is my boyfriend groups are at 3:30 p.m.

    Parking lots open at 12:00 noon.

  • Merchandise

    This tour has made national news with lines and lines of fans trying to purchase merch. I personally waited in an hour long line in Glendale, and while I’d love to purchase a few more things I don’t think my schedule will allow in Atlanta. Here’s when and where you can purchase merch in Atlanta:

    On Thursday, April 27, Taylor Swift merch will be available outside Mercedes-Benz Stadium from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on International Plaza.
    • Fans will not be allowed on site before 6 a.m.
    • We reserve the right to cut off the line once it reaches capacity
    • Parking is available in the Red Deck, located directly under International Plaza
    • Cash will not be accepted, Digital and CC payments only
    On show days, the outside merch location will open at 12 noon and remain open after the show.
    Inside the stadium there are 26 different merch locations located on five different levels of the stadium.

  • Parking/Getting To The Stadium

    Parking is sold out so if you have not pre-purchased parking do not drive to the venue expecting to find it.

  • Bag Policy

    Mercedes Benz Stadium recommends that  you do not bring a bag to the show. If you choose to it must adhere to the following guidelines:

    • Bags must be completely CLEAR plastic, vinyl or PVC and not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”.
    • Bags cannot be tinted with color or include any content or markings that prevents visibility into the clear bag.
    • Only non-clear bags that are smaller than 4.5” x 6.5” will be permitted into the stadium.
    • Any type of non-clear bag exceeding 4.5” x 6.5” in size will not be permitted. Guests with non-complying bags can store their items for a fee at one of the conveniently located bag check locations provided by The Mobile Locker Company outside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

    These same restrictions were in place in Arizona, and I only had a bad that was iridescent and a typical 12×12 stadium bag with a logo on it. I chose to take the logoed bag, and I was able to bring it in (probably because it didn’t block anything in the bag). I also saw people get in with irridescent bags, but be mindful if you choose to take either of these options there is a chance you could get turned away and have to leave it somewhere.

  • When Does The Show Start?

    The show begins at 6:30pm with the second act going on stage at 6:55 and Taylor taking the stage around 8pm. Here is the schedule that was handed out to employees in Glendale, but note that she went on stage around 7:50 that night. So I would plan on being in your seats no later than 7:45. She plays for over 3 hours so make sure to get your drinks and go to the bathroom as you will not want to miss a second of this show.

    Read at your own discretion. I for one, especially when it comes to Taylor want to be surprised. I was glad I went to opening weekend as it would be virtually impossible to avoid seeing anything which is how I like it. The set is divided into Era’s which you will see below.

    **Fans also speculate that the song ‘High Infidelity’ from ‘Midnights’ will be one of the songs on Saturday night as the song contains a line saying “Do you really wanna know where I was April 29th?”
