Fabolous Blasts TMZ For ‘Bogus Story’: ‘This Is Defamation Of Character’
On Friday, Fabolous took to Instagram to call out TMZ for publishing a story that Fabolous calls “fake” and a “defamation of character.”

The story was about Fabolous allegedly parting ways with his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his children, Emily Bustamante.
It also stated that Fab had gone on a lunch date with a “mystery chick,” who Fabolous later referred to as a “female teacher.”
“I’ve never said I split up from Emily. I love EMILY Bustamante!!!” Fabolous wrote on a post that he shared to Instagram. “We are a couple working on our relationship. That @tmz story & blogs are LIES.”
“I LOVE YOU EMILY. I never told you, anyone, I split up from Emily. And I wasn’t on a date. The whole story is made up,” Fab wrote as his caption for the post.

In a second post regarding the incident, Fab said, “@TMZ posted a lunch meeting I had wit a Female Teacher & said I was on a date & added a bogus story that I cut off or split from EMILY.”
“This is defamation of character!!!! I’m going to reach out to my lawyers to take action!! This is baseless & affecting my likeness, my character & MY FAMILY,” Fabolous continued.
In the caption for that post, Fabolous wrote about the media producing false stories.
“These blogs are making fake stories & breaking up families. Complicating people’s lives for a story!! For some clicks. @tmztv_ ran a baseless story with no confirmations from me or @emilyb_ . I LOVE EMILY B,” the Brooklyn rapper wrote.
Following Fab’s social media rant, TMZ published another story stating that Fabolous denied the split “but it only takes one to break up.”
“Here’s the thing — sources close to Emily tell us the 2 haven’t been together for nearly a year … and it was her decision to call it off. Despite Fab’s claims they’re still trying to work it out — we’re told, for now, Emily says it’s over — and Fab is trying to save his family,” TMZ wrote.
The publication also referenced a meme that Emily shared on her Instagram story on Friday.
“This often offends people when I say this but I don’t care. My mental health is a priority over any friendship or relationship. I’ll lose anyone and anything before I lose my mind,” the meme read, and Emily wrote “this has been my mood all year!” underneath it.
In March 2018, a video surfaced of a physical altercation that Fabolous had with Emily and her father. In October 2018, Fab was indicted for domestic violence, but the rapper struck a plea deal earlier this year to avoid jail time.
