Mariah Carey Announces 25th Anniversary Reissue Of ‘Merry Christmas’ Album
Mariah Carey recently announced the 25th-anniversary reissue of her Merry Christmas album, which was released on October 28, 1994.
To commemorate the album which contains Carey’s smash holiday hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Mimi will be releasing the 25th-anniversary deluxe edition of the album, as That Grape Juice reports.
The deluxe edition of Carey’s Merry Christmas is slated to be released on Nov. 1 and will be split between two discs, fusing tracks from the original album and Carey’s select tracks from her 2010 follow-up holiday album, Merry Christmas II You.
“Lambily! MERRY CHRISTMAS is turning 25 and I’m celebrating by releasing a very special 2 CD Deluxe Anniversary Edition on November 1st featuring, for the first time ever, my St. John The Divine performance and more!” Carey wrote as the caption of her Instagram post announcing the exciting news for her fans on Monday (Sept. 23). “Pre-order now for early access to tickets to my US tour. ”
“This is so exciting. November 1st! We have much new stuff. You can pre-order it now,” Carey said in the video. “It’s the anniversary of the Christmas album. I’m very excited about it.”
“I’m too excited,” Carey continued. “I’m going to calm down. Christmas is happening. We gotta get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first,” Carey said before breaking into laughter. Check out the announcement video above.
