Megan Thee Stallion Shares Details About Her Second Album
Megan Thee Stallion has finally given a little more detail about her second album. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Houston “Hottie” is working on the follow-up to her 2020 album Good News. She told the outlet that this LP will be taking fans on an emotional rollercoaster.
“I want to take you through so many different emotions,” she said of the upcoming album. “At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.”
She previewed one song of the upcoming album titled “Gift And Curse,” produced by Murda Beatz. She raps, “A bitch like me, yeah, I know my worth / F—ing with me is a gift and a curse.” Megan then expanded on the song’s meaning stating, “I can take care of myself. I’m so emotionally strong. I’m so independent. You know how easy it is for me to dismiss you, because I don’t need you.”
Megan also previewed a song called “Pressurelicious.” “Pressurelicious” features Future; Megan praised his ability to seemingly dismiss negative comments about himself online.
“I appreciate that about anybody who gets up and has to do anything in the public eye,” she said of Future. “Anybody who has to read about their life online every day and deal with so many energies and can put it out into their music and do it gracefully, I feel like you deserve your flowers.” This will be the first collaboration between the two rappers.
Elsewhere in the interview, Megan opened up about the influence of her late mother. “When I make music, I always scratch the first draft because I feel my momma would’ve scratched it for me. So I’m like, ‘OK, go harder than that,’” she said.
At the time of the interview, Megan had “25 to 30” songs to choose from before she makes the final tracklist for the LP. The rapper is looking to have the album released sometime this summer.
