Lizzo Wins 2022 MTV VMAs Best Video For Good: ‘B—- I’m Winning!’
Lizzo accepts the Video For Good award for 'About Damn Time' at the 2022 MTV VMAs at Prudential Center on August 28, 2022 in Newark, New Jersey.
Lizzo referenced this year’s MTV Vanguard Award-winner Nicki Minaj during her VMAs acceptance speech for Best Video For Good. Lizzo won for her song “About Damn Time,” and seemed to reference Minaj’s “What’s Good?” line during the 2015 VMAs. At the time, the rapper stepped up to accept the award for Best Hip-Hop Video for “Anaconda” and had a few choice words for host Miley Cyrus. She said, “And now, back to this b—- who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press: Miley, What’s good?”
Sunday (August 28) night, Lizzo resurrected that same energy to the haters and said, “To the b—-es that got something to say about me in the press… You know what, I’m not going to say nothing. They be like, ‘Lizzo, why don’t you clap back?’ Because b—-, I’m winning hoe!”
