A North Carolina media personality wins big on Wheel of Fortune. We could not be happier for Brandon O’Brien who now resides in Nashville.
If that name sounds familiar to you, it’s because he was on the air here in Charlotte, North Carolina from 2001-2006. Always a great guy with a ready smile and a love of television and game shows. Brandon recently won big on “Wheel of Fortune” in the main game and also in the bonus round. All in all he won $52,000 in cash and prizes including a new car and a trip to New Orleans.
Brandon auditioned via video to Wheel of Fortune back in 2021 and he urges anyone interested in being on the game show to do the same. “It’s much easier to be seen now that you can upload a video”. Plus, he’s just so darn handsome how could they not pick him? He is also really good at puzzles.
“I wanted to be on wheel because I was always the best player in the room according to the other people in the room! I would guess the puzzles so fast…and after the show someone else would sign me up!”

Chances are you have been to many of the best-known places in North Carolina. But what about a town that is just unbelievable to visit but just doesn’t have its own public relations team to tell you about it? Experts say this is the most underrated North Carolina City.
The folks over at Prevention magazine put together a list of cities across the United States that are worth your time to visit, but that you just never hear a lot about. I just love discovering towns and for the first time experiencing their beauty, as well as the food, the activities. Often times when you find these places everyone in the family thinks, “where has this town been all my life?”
What exactly does “underrated” mean? Google says it simply means not rated or valued highly enough. If you are like me and on a budget, my travel these days consists of places I can get to in a car in 8 hours or less. And with the vacation season coming up, it’s the perfect time to take a look at these underrated locations. While we were at it we went ahead and found out the underrated towns in South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. By absolute chance, I have been to this underrated town in North Carolina. We actually ended up there when we got lost. It is charming, beautiful and one of the most underrated parts of the Outer Banks.
