The vacation site, Family Destinations Guide, named the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as the tourist destination with the highest percentage of five star reviews in the United States. The park receives over 20 million visitors a year, nearly 90 percent Tripadvisor reviews were “excellent” or five star.
The spot in North Carolina came close to tying with the Grand Canyon as the best tourist destination in the nation. The park is just a few hours drive from Charlotte. While there you can camp or hike. You could take a scenic drive or take in all the wildlife. Many people flock to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to witness the fireflies. The mating season lasts for two to three weeks a year. Firefly viewing dates begin April 25. 19 different species of fireflies reportedly inhabit the area.
