Quavo Confirms Takeoff Posthumous Album Is In The Works
Quavo confirmed that the late Migos member Takeoff will have a posthumous album sometime in the future. In a new interview with Jamie Crawford-Walker on YouTube, Quavo opened up about his grief following the passing of his nephew and groupmate. Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston on November 2022.
Quavo told Crawford that he loves and misses Takeoff a lot. He also admitted that he sometimes “cries himself to sleep” thinking about his late nephew. While he’s been photographed enjoying his summer, he said that it’s not to be confused with how he feels about Takeoff.
“So when you see me, and you see me smiling or something like that, you don’t gotta never think, like, I forgot about him, or I’ll forget about him. I think about him all the time,” he said.

As for the upcoming album, Quavo said that he’s used a “few unreleased verses” from Takeoff. Those songs are yet to be released and most likely will appear in Rocket Power. Quavo said that Takeoff has around 1,000 unreleased verses in the vault.
Quavo and Offset paid tribute to Takeoff during the 2023 BET Awards last month. Shortly after their surprise performance together, Offset jumped on Instagram Live and reflected on what that meant for him and Quavo to reunite on stage.
“The BET performance was iconic man,” Set said at the time. “It cleared my soul. Me and my brother Qua, we put that together within 16 hours. Like 15 hours. We land from Paris like at 9 pm and go straight to work to figure out how we gon’ put the show together man.”
“We do that because we some real stars. We do that. We do this music. We the greatest group to ever touch the mic. RIP my brother Take. We did it for my brother Take.”
Quavo previously announced that he would be releasing a tribute album titled Rocket Power in honor of the late Migos’ stage name. A release date for the album has not been announced.
