I saw one of the self driving taxis in Charlotte and it nearly blew my mind! It was crazy! Have you seen one of the self driving taxis yet?

On Friday I was leaving work and I'm pulling out of the radio station and boom. I see one of the self driving taxis that are being tested here in the city. The car uses AI to drive. The company testing these cars is called Cruise. The company launched testing in the Charlotte Market last week.

The top of the vehicle had all sorts of gadgets on top of the vehicle. I would assume prior to becoming driverless, the AI technology would require a physical driver to get a "lay of the land" so to speak. The video below shows a quick look at what the car looks like.

I'm sure the first thing someone is thinking about is accidents. Honestly, I thought about that as well. In full transparency, an accident can happen with cars driven by people so anything can be possible. Speaking of full transparency, one of the company's car was recently involved in a collision, and they were immediately transparent about it. They weren't attempting to hide it. In fact, they Tweeted about it.

I wonder if Cruise will come and pick me up and take me on a quick cruise as an influencer to show the City of Charlotte how one incident doesn't define the technology?
