Another Big Lottery Winner In North Carolina
You can listen to Fran Marie interviewing Adam Owens the Communications Manager for the North Carolina Education Lottery here. Adam shared how we can have multiple chances to win jackpots with Second Chance scratch-offs. The latest winner is Bonita Ham who tried her luck on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 prize. As Adam explained in the interview, when winning big, you must present your winning ticket in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ham bought her lucky Black Titanium ticket from Coulwood BP on Bellhaven Boulevard in Charlotte. She arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim her prize and, after required tax withholdings, took home $71,259. Down below you’ll see a blog story about Joshua Allen recently missed a jackpot win by one number but he didn’t miss on Tuesday night when he matched all five numbers to win a $662,878 Cash 5 jackpot.
The Black Titanium game debuted in June with six $4 million top prizes and 16 $100,000 prizes.
Four $4 million prizes and eight $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed. During the holiday season, we have to remember to play smart and know that lottery tickets are not appropriate gifts for kids as part of a national gift responsibility campaign. Research shows that the earlier someone participates in or is exposed to gambling, the more likely they are to develop a gambling problem later in life.
