Bryce Young to Start Week 8 for Carolina Panthers After Dalton Involved in Car Crash Tuesday
Looks like there’s a switch coming. NFL released Wednesday (10/23) that Bryce Young would be starting as quarterback for Week 8. The Carolina Panthers will face the Denver Broncos in a Week 8 match with Young leading the team.
This comes after the Panthers faced a major loss against the Washington Commanders in Week 7 with a final score of 40-7. After this loss, the Panthers probably took the week to regroup and analyze yet again. Young started the season as the starting QB but was swapped for Andy Dalton after losing the first few Panthers games.
Bryce Young Returns to Starting QB Following Crash
The decision to have Young return to starting QB comes after announcements that Andy Dalton and his family were involved in a car crash on Tuesday in Charlotte. Reports state Dalton, his wife, and their three children were all in the car at the time of the crash.
Dalton and his family were not reported injured or seen by emergency medical responders. Officials report that he has a thumb sprain and did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Following the crash and the minor injury, Young was announced as the starting QB for Week 8’s game.
NFL reports that Canales told reporters on Wednesday that he’s excited for Young to have another chance and how supportive he has been since the switch to Dalton. Dalton should return to the game soon and we will see if he will return as starting QB and how Young does this week in his first game back.
