Whataburger Moving Into North Carolina And Here’s Where You Can Find Them
Seems like we’ve been writing about Whataburger moving into the Carolinas forever. And, there have been openings of locations in South Carolina already. And, now Whataburger Gastonia is coming to fruition. Let’s see what is in the works.
Whataburger Gastonia
According to Gaston Alive magazine, Whataburger Gastonia is in the works and will be moving into what once was Backyard Burgers. Of course, we are talking about the Texas based chain that began in Corpus Christi way back in 1950. I grew up with Whataburger. And, as any Texan will tell you, there is no substitute.
Many people confuse the local chain in the Carolinas, What-A-Burger, with the Texas one. And, while the What-A-Burger in the Carolinas is delicious, the Texas restaurant is not the same business. After we moved away from Texas, we missed many things about the Lone Star State. And, Whataburger was one of them. There’s something comforting about seeing those orange and white striped buildings on the horizon.
We were just back in Texas for a family wedding and my son requested a stop at Whataburger before we headed to the airport for our return. In honor of my late mom’s favorite meal, I ordered the Whataburger with cheese, onion rings, and a vanilla malt. It was a warm and cozy memory.
And, if you’re lucky enough to be around a 24-hour Whataburger, you must try the Breakfast Taquito! Trust me. Some people say it’s a great cure for a long night of drinking. I wouldn’t know about such things…LOL. But, the breakfast burrito hits the spot!
So, we’re happy that little by little, our Texas favorite is moving this way. And, the wheels are turning on Whataburger Gastonia.
We’ll definitely keep our eyes on any news concerning this development. And, we’ll update you when we get an opening date!
