Organizations That Help Empower Black Communities
This past weekend, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking; racking my brain on the moments in my life that I have unknowingly felt privilege and not appreciated it… asking myself, am I doing enough to be allied to the black community?
These are very hard, and uncomfortable thoughts that we MUST have as we all take a look at the reality of what is, and has been going on in our country. For me, I have really struggled with not knowing what the right thing to say or do is right now. But I also recognize that I have a platform, and I don’t want to let that platform go to waste.
As I continue to learn more and more about ways that I can help, and become a better ally, one of the first things I did this weekend when protests started, was look up organizations I can donate to help empower and support the black community. I wanted to share some of those organizations I found with you too in case you feel it necessary in your heart to also donate.
