Drake Mentions Kanye & Kim Divorce In Song Preview
In a new song preview, Drake makes mention of Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s divorce by sampling the reality star. During Friday’s episode (March 31) Sound 42’s show, the Toronto rapper played a snippet of the song reportedly called “Rescue Me.” After the first verse of the song is played, you can hear Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner speak about Kim and Ye amid their divorce.
“I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy, remember that,” Kim is heard saying on the song. The sample comes from the 2021 season finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Kim and Kanye officially divorced in March of 2022. They were married for six years after publicly dating in 2012.
Drake and Kanye had a three-year-long rap beef that stopped in November 2021. They ended up squashing it to promote the release of Gangster’s Disciples co-founder Larry Hoover from prison.
Later in the song, Drake talks about settling down with the right woman and stop playing the field.
“I need someone to be patient with me/Someone to get money, would not take it from me/They don’t even need to be as famous as me/I don’t think I meet ’em at the places I be/But deep down I think about you all day, mami,” he rap-sings.
Drake initially shared a snippet of the song on his Instagram account on March 25.
In other Drake news, he co-headlined the Dreamville Fest on Sunday (April 2) with J. Cole. He will soon hit the road for It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage on June 6 in New Orleans. Drizzy and 21 dropped their collab album Her Loss back in November.
