The Relatives – A QuickTrip to Stability
Ella was a new mother who came to The Relatives because she needed help achieving a stable future for herself and her child. At The Relatives Ella found the support she needed to become successful. Ella began her journey to stability by enrolling in The Relatives GED program, where she was paired with a volunteer tutor who helped her study for and, eventually, earn her GED.
After earning her GED, Ella needed to find employment with a business that understood her unique circumstances as a young, single mother. At an on-site job fair hosted by The Relatives, Ella connected with QuikTrip. QuikTrip is just one of over 50 local employers who partner with The Relative to help young people in crisis find stable employment. Thanks to the resume building and interview prep trainings she had received at The Relatives, Ella was able to ace her interview and accept a flexible position with QuikTrip. To help Ella as she adjusted to her new routine, bus passes, and gas cards were provided until she was able to support her own transportation needs. The Relatives help young people like Ella every day.
