SZA Gets Tattoo To Honor Her Late Grandmother
On Monday, SZA took to Instagram to show off a new tattoo honoring her beloved grandmother, Norma who recently passed.
Along with a photo of the tattoo, SZA also shared a photo of her with her grandmother and mother at the 2018 Grammy’s, and a screenshot of her phone wallpaper, which shows a photo of the “Love Galore” singer with her granny.
“Dec 25, 1928- June 19, 2019,” SZA wrote as her caption, which can be assumed to be the date that her grandmother was born and the date that she died.
SZA thanked her fans and supporters in the comments for their condolences. “Thank you so much, everyone. Granny loves you more,” she wrote.

The singer also took to Twitter to express how her sorrow. “I yam sad as f*ck now,” she wrote.
SZA’s grandmother, Norma was featured on the singer’s last studio album, CTRL, which was released in 2017. Norma can be heard at the end of “Garden (Say It Like Dat).”
When SZA took her granny and mother as dates to the 2018 Grammy Awards, she spoke with Access about bringing them.
“I brought my mom and my granny. They narrated my album so they had to be here. They’re the best people I know,” SZA said. The singer shared that her grandmother came all the way from St. Louis to be with her.
“I’m proud of her, honestly. Coming all this way. This is a dream for me to see my granny in this space, ” SZA said after her grandmother told Access‘ Lilliana Vazquez that she was proud of her granddaughter.
