RHOA Star Kenya Moore Says Motherhood Made Her More Compassionate
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore is covering the current issue of Upscale magazine. In the issue, Moore opens up about motherhood and returning to reality television.
On Thursday (Oct. 24), Moore took to Instagram to share the cover with her 1.8 million followers. “So excited for my latest cover! Thank you @upscalemagazine for this beautiful cover and honest story and the writer #rondapenrice,” Moore wrote in her caption. “It’s not easy to remain strong through difficult times but here I am still standing.”
In the feature, Moore talked about how her daughter, Brooklyn has changed her for the better.
“I am definitely more compassionate. I’m 100 percent more patient. I feel more kind, but I’m also less tolerant of fake news and people who are disingenuous or not kind,” Moore explains.
“I strive to be the best mother I can be. I’m very attentive and believe it’s important to make her feel like she is the most important person in my life.”
“She’s the happiest baby, and I love to laugh with her. Her laughter is contagious,” Moore continues.
When Moore was just three days old, her own mother abandoned her, leaving her grandmother, Doris to raise the Detroit native. Although Moore and her mother would often see each other at family gatherings, the reality TV star’s mother never acknowledged her or spoke to her.
Back in September, Moore announced her separation from her husband Marc Daly, of two years. However, Moore is resilient and not letting the split stop her.
“I’ve been a corporation since I was 17 years old,” Moore said. “Whenever anything is difficult for me or trying or heartbreaking,” she explains, “I just know that you have to keep moving forward and being positive.”
